ABOUT OUR FACILITY

The Facility

Sappony Creek Farm opened its doors to the public in December 2006 as a state-of-the-art boarding, lesson and training facility. In February 2010 professional trainers DJ Johnson and Bob Crandall opened their Hunter/Jumper/Equitation operation, Johnson and Crandall at Sappony Creek Farm.

The modern barn features thirty-five 12'x12' box stalls, three tack rooms with custom-built lockers, four grooming stalls, two hot/cold wash stalls, two vet/farrier stalls, a climate-controlled clubhouse with full kitchen, two climate-controlled bathrooms, and a 165’ x 60’ indoor arena featuring Terra 2000 footing—a dust-free, shock absorbing footing.

The Grounds

Johnson and Crandall at Sappony Creek Farm have a lighted 220’ x 150’ outdoor arena suitable for any type of horse show, clinic, or exhibition. The footing in the outdoor arena is the same used on the track at Churchill Downs and in top show barns across the country. As the centerpiece of an equine community, there are miles of trails throughout the development for your riding pleasure. Paddocks are grass-filled and well maintained, enclosed by 4’6” four-board wooden fencing—offering a safe and healthy turn-out situation for any horse or pony.

Johnson and Crandall at Sappony Creek Farm will continue to grow and the future is very exciting! We are currently working on plans for a second multi-use outdoor ring, additional fencing for new paddocks, run-in sheds for paddocks, more wooded trails throughout the property, a grandstand for our outdoor arena, and other exciting upgrades to the facility.
